Day 13 Week 3 Bonus Activity Summer Learning Journey 2017

Summer Learning Journey

Bonus Activity
There are literally dozens of different types (‘genres’) of music in the world, including classical, rock ‘n roll, Rhythm & Blues (R&B), pop, hip hop, rap, jazz, etc. Some musicians play on their own and some play as part of a band. Arguably, the most influential band of all time is The Beatles. They were a rock band from Liverpool, England.
Dozens of movies have been made about the band. The most recent was a documentary called ‘The Beatles: 8 Days a Week – The Touring Years.’ Watch the trailer for this movie.
After you have finished, tell us two things that you learned about the Beatles from watching this trailer. They can be any two interesting facts!

The three things I learnt is that #1 the people had changed and started to hate them but they still keeped going. #2 is that the people started changing and so they changed as well. #3 They started to become brothers, and stock by their sides as a family.

  1. Hey Lusia,

Great facts about what you learned about the Beetles.

Keep up the great work :)

  3. Hi Lusia,

I am glad that you took the time to watch the trailer the Beatles documentary. It certainly showcased an interesting time in the lives of one of England's most famous bands. They really were incredibly popular in the 1960s. People used to follow them around constantly. I think that it would have been pretty hard to have people constantly yelling out to you and running after you as you walked down the street. As a result of these experiences the boys certainly bonded together.

Unfortunately, two of the original four band members have passed away. John Lennon was tragically shot to death and George Harrison died of lung cancer. His death reminds me of the last post that I commented on of yours, related to laws and smoking. If only, smoking had been illegal, George may not have smoked and might not have gotten lung cancer...

It's impossible to know for sure but it inspires me to stay away from smoking!

    Rachel :)
