LEARN: To Recognise that creation shows God’s glory and goodness to the world.
I can see the biggest tree on the field.
It’s so old, rusty, but still living through with strong sympathy. It’s hard to climb but easy to see. This thing shows the glory of God, because God, has created this living thing and even though it's old it still has goodness inside.
Trees are very common and often used for building things. (E.G Houses, Tables, Chairs, shelves and lots more.)

MY AMAZING EXPERIENCE.....
My leadership team and I, had a privilege to go and represent for our school at the Ruapotaka marae. Ruapotaka marae has a project that got to do with a traditional cloak, (which is called a korowai) that represent the new houses built in G.I. (Glen Innes), Mt Wellington, Panmure and more.
We had an opportunity to actually tie a small coloured house (one each) onto the Korowai to represent our home in the community.
Before we tied the houses on the Korowai, this lady called general fire talked to us about themselves and what they were doing. She told us “the parents and herself (Our parents too) were present and that we are the future of the whole community area” She also said that “one day we will live in a house in the area when we grow up”
General fire said “her community wanted to do something good for the new houses, that are going to be built in our area” and I think that it’s a great idea. The korowai are going to be presented at the art festival this year when they are finished.
We also had a talk with one of the person’s that are in the community, She told us “what do we like to see more in our society, and put it down on the book they had on one of the tables”
So we put some things that we want to see more in our area or school. I put, I would like to see more netball courts around our area. I also put, More library's next to our school that we can walk to the library, after school if parents are working late. After that we finished and had a photo with the korowai. Fano and I held the sign that says “Ruapotaka” and then headed off back to school. What an amazing experience we had!
*Here are some photos from our experience* *The third photo was when the lady told us to do the pukana!*
My name is Lusia Pahulu, I am a Year 8 student and attends S.P.X Catholic School. My favourite subject in school is Maths and reading. One of my goals for this year is to try hard to focus on my learning and also to get ready for college. My strongest goal is to strive my hardest to become a great role model to the Saint Pius X kids. It was such a honor to receive the Honors badge at the mass last year. I am so proud that I was chosen to be the leader and that I can help others with their learning at school. I felt so emotional and so happy seeing my grandma, my brother, my principal and my teacher looking at me so proudly. I wouldn’t have stand in front becoming a leader without them they were the ones who put me up here and this is what i'm grateful for!

Friday 10th March 2017Blog writing
After lunch, my group and I have been talking about our environment. We had to choose one topic about the pollution that affects our Tamaki area. My group and I choice plastic bags as our topic. We were to focus on what do we wanna know about our topic by asking questions about it.
For example: What are plastic bags made from, How does it work or can we reuse them by making another product (like plastic cups or rain coats)? We have heaps of questions to ask. I found one interesting fact about plastic bags: 1,000,000 bird get killed by plastic bags per year. Isn’t that terrible!

School is about to start again for a new year. Yay! Imagine that you walked into your classroom and your teacher asked you to stand up in front of the class and talk about the country that you visited. On your blog, you can:
- Post a short video clip of yourself talking about the country that you visited and the things that you learned (1 – 2 minutes)
- Type out what you would say to the class if you had 1 – 2 minutes to speak.
I would say : I had a beautiful trip, there was little villages that was so packed! I went to see the popular castle called The White Heron Castle!! There was heaps of interesting things like uneatable square watermelons, a vending machine full of delicious dinners or lunch, there was strange kit kat flavours, heaps of yummy sushi, Traditional japanese foods and heaps more! There were heaps of motorways all around there was even a drive in through one of the buildings in the city! In Japan there popular theme parks are amazing!!!!! And they also have a pool theme park! They also have an amazing mountains in Mt Fiji!!

Imagine that you have just arrived at the airport in Auckland. Your whole family is there to greet you. They can’t wait to hear all about your trip! You decide that you’ll go home and have a special meal together to celebrate your return. Your mum offers to make you anything that you would like to eat. On your blog, tell us what you would choose to have for your special meal.
If it was me, I would ask for homemade hamburgers with ketchup, American-style mustard, onions, tomato and lettuce; Cajun-style wedges with tomato sauce and Greek salad with cherry tomatoes and lots of feta cheese. For dessert I would ask for vanilla cake with chocolate icing and neapolitan ice cream. What would you ask for?
Wow! I bet I would be so hungry when I get back home! I would ask for a home made Bacon and cheese pizza with hot fries with a cold drink. For dessert I would love to have a cookie dough ice cream pizza!
After four full weeks of planning and travelling, you are now safely back in New Zealand. You have now had some time to relax and to reflect on your experiences. What are two things that you have learned from your travels? On your blog, tell us about any two things that you have learned?
The first thing I have learnt, threw my whole experience is that the reason why people wear masks in Japan is because in Japan there is the periods where pollen is high or in the winter. In those seasons, if you step on a train, most of the people riding the train will be wearing one. While of course there are people who wear them against pollen or germs, among them there are people who don’t want their faces to be seen. Many young people have been wearing fashionable ones lately!
The Second thing that I have experienced is that everywhere in Japan, from shops and restaurants to banks and offices, we are welcomed by a statue representing a beckoning cat… this is the maneki neko, one of the most common lucky charms in Japan, thought to attract good luck in business and prosperity.
P.S I haven't been blogging that much lately because I have traveled with my family to America on holiday but I will keep up to date in my free time as best as I can! Cheers! xx

Let’s imagine that the neighbouring town was about 30 kilometres away. There are a number of beautiful villages and interesting things to see along the way. You have four options for this trip. You can take a:
- Train – 25 minute ride; No stops along the way; $12 for the trip (return)
- Bus – 45 minute ride; Two stops along the way to look at interesting villages; $8 for the trip (return)
- Scooter – 1 hour ride; Unlimited number of stops; $5 for the trip (return)
- Bicycle – 2 hour ride; Unlimited number of stops but there are some hills along the way; $1 (return)
On your blog, tell us which of these four options you would choose and why!
The Transport I would choose is…..
The Bicycle – 2 hour ride; Unlimited number of stops but there are some hills along the way; $1 (return). Why I choose it is because you get unlimited number of stops too see the beautiful outrage of small villages and you get to have some exercise!
These days there are, literally, dozens of different kinds of vehicles that we can use. Some of them are quite familiar (eg. car, truck, bus) but some are very unique and different. Watch this Youtube clip of the most Amazing vehicles ever made.
When you have finished tell us which of the vehicles you liked the most. On your blog tell us the name of the vehicle and the reasons why you liked it so much. There are a number of pretty interesting options!
Wow! There is heaps of amazing vehicles I liked very much! The vehicle I most liked was the seg way and the one wheel scooter!! I can’t believe they invented such an amazing vehicles! The reasons why I choose those to is because first, it looks very comfortable two, it looks like fun to go on for a trip, three you can look cool in it and four, it’s very good for outdoor!
Sadly, there are a number of animals in the world that are struggling to survive because they cannot find enough food to eat or a safe place to live. Many of these animals are dying and, in some cases, there are very few of them left. They are called ‘endangered animals.’ In New Zealand we have many endangered species, including the kakapo, a shiny green bird that likes to make its nest on the ground. Unfortunately, the nest is really easy to get to and other animals can easily steal the kakapo’s eggs. As a result, very few new kakapo are born. There are 55 kakapos in New Zealand right now.
The New Zealand government is trying to save the kakapo. They are looking for creative ideas. What do you think they could do? On your blog, tell us what you think should be done to save the kakapo. Please be as creative as you can!
